On 20th June 2018 we had our last Parks Trust visit to Stonepit Fields for the year. We continued to look at the seasons and how the area has changed during the summer. We looked at how the trees have now got lots of green leaves on them and all of the flowers which have grown taller than us.
We spent lot’s of the session bug hunting. We used swing nets in the long grass and collected any bugs we found in bug pots. Lynn, the park ranger then helped us to identify what we had collected. We found butterflies, damsel flies, dragon flies, bees a shield bug, a spider, a grass hopper and lots of little flies. The children really enjoyed the trip and learnt lots about the different bugs and insects.
