About us

The Pre-school has been established for more than 35 years and has grown from a small playgroup in a local house to a busy Pre-school. We were kindly offered a room at Great Linford Primary School when we were given notice to vacate our last premises and opened our doors here on Monday 7th January 2019. We are a community Pre-school, run as a charity managed by a voluntary committee comprised mainly of parents of children attending the Pre-school.

Our staff are dedicated to providing quality care to the children of the Pre-school. The Pre-school has a good retention of staff, who together bring many years of experience to the Pre-school. We have a fantastic range of equipment for inside and outside play to stimulate your child, encouraging them to learn through play whilst enjoying their time with us.

 Our setting aims to:

  • provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age;
  • work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop;
  • add to the life and well-being of the local community; and
  • offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.

Parents

Parents are regarded as members of our setting who have full participatory rights. These include a right to be:

  • valued and respected;
  • kept informed;
  • consulted;
  • involved; and
  • included at all levels.

Any help and involvement from parents is greatly appreciated this can be by:

  • Joining the Committee
  • Assisting with fundraising events and Pre-school activities
  • Joining our paid bank staff to help out when we are short staffed.
  • Coming in to help out during sessions
  • Helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in the children’s play activities
  • Attending Open Days, Stay and Read and Stay and Play sessions
  • Sharing any special interests or jobs with the children
  • Building friendships with other parents in Pre-school

 Special Events

We hold many special events in Pre-school during the school year:

  • Children’s Christmas Party with visits from magicians and Father Christmas
  • Sports Day
  • Easter Egg Hunts
  • Special Occasions such as Chinese New Year and Diwali

Pre-school/School links

The Pre-school aims to create children who are independent and ready for school.  When it is time for them to move on we feel smooth transitions are very important.  The Pre-school has developed good relationships with many local schools and we work with them closely to provide them with the information they need. We are also able to provide additional support for children and families who need it during this time.

We would like to advise parents that their choice of Early Years provider will not in any way influence their admission to a school place once they reach compulsory school age.
