EYFS Curriculum

Our curriculum

The aim of our curriculum is to equip children with the skills and knowledge they need to explore and understand the worlds around them.  We believe that children grow and develop when they have access to a well thought out learning environment and engaged adults.  The teaching and learning of new skills and knowledge is delivered through both adult and child led opportunities bot indoors and outside.  We focus on the importance of knowledge and skills that will support children in every possible way so that they can make the most of opportunities and fulfil their potential along with promoting their independence.

We adjust how we deliver our curriculum according to the children we have attending and focus on the skills they most need to develop. We use a range of programmes such as Jigsaw, Numberblocks and Discovery to help us deliver our curriculum.

We use both Development matters and Birth2Five to help us monitor the children’s progress and plan activities to support their development. Both documents concentrate on children developing their Personal, social and emotional, communication and language and physical skills, before moving onto literacy and maths skills.  You can find more information using the links below.
